My work experience could be summarized as a journey from sales to marketing to fund development. After fifteen years as a nonprofit professional, I continue to believe we can all make wonderful and positive changes in our world by starting right where we are. My favorite aspects of fund development are relationship building, grant writing, communications and training. I have been able to assist my organization in raising over $5 million in charitable gifts for several very worthy projects. Before becoming a fundraising professional, I worked in communications and marketing for a nonprofit for three years which included a two-year rebranding effort. Special events, media relations and designing collateral such as brochures and reports were all a part of my job. During this time, I had the opportunity to host a local cable television show which featured nonprofits and their work in the community. Prior to that, I was Vice President for a software and website company where I was a sales representative and project manager.
