Timothy A. McMillin is Director of Development at Des Moines Metro Opera. He brings a lifetime of experience in the non-profit arts sector to bear upon his work in supporting the mission and vision of DMMO. In his role, McMillin is responsible for unifying and streamlining all external affairs efforts for DMMO, overseeing development and collaborating with marketing, public relations, and community partnerships.
He leads an outstanding team that works in partnership with DMMO's Board of Directors to secure philanthropic support to sustain the company’s mission; each year, the team raises more than $3 million. The team will have undertaken and completed two major campaigns in addition to annual fund maintenance within a period of 10 years.
Dr. McMillin earned the DMA in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University in East Lansing, and degrees in music education from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.
