Emily Capelle is a professional fundraiser and consultant specializing in the areas of fundraising assessments, fundraising plans, legacy giving, annual giving and direct response strategies. As a non-profit executive, Ms. Capelle brings 30 years of experience and a unique set of skills to her work. In leadership roles at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Bader Hillel Academy, and Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin and Metro Chicago, she has led fundraising strategies to generate 1.5+ million in revenue including a moves management system for major gifts, enhancing and growing planned giving, and implementing a monthly donor giving program. Her background also includes grant writing to private, community, and corporate foundations as well as proposal writing, management, and reporting for Department of Labor, U.S. Senior Corps, Dept. of Transportation grants, and Dept. of Homeland Security - Nonprofit Security Grant Program.                                                                                                


                            


Ms. Capelle has helped organizations such as the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, Omena, and The Doyenne Group, Madison, WI., raise money to expand their mission. She works closely with leaders and volunteers to help them further the mission through fundraising. In addition, she spearheaded development of an ongoing equity and diversity initiative at the American Society for Quality (ASQ), coordinating cross-division efforts linked to the strategic plan. These efforts enabled the organization to better respond to and reflect the needs of current and potential customers. 


 


Emily is principal consultant at EJC Consulting, LLC, past president of the Planned Giving Council of Eastern Wisconsin; a member of the National Partnership of Philanthropic Planning Association, serves as a mentor for the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Southeastern Wisconsin, and served for 3 years on the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) national Diversity Committee. Emily is a former Peace Corps volunteer and brings a unique cross-cultural and global understanding and awareness to her work. She received her Master of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee majoring in sociology and achieved her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation in 2016.
